Privacy policy

In short: this site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, loads nothing from third parties, and processes only what is technically needed to deliver it securely.

2. Hosting

This site is served from a self-operated server in Germany. No hosting, CDN or other provider processes your requests on our behalf. The domain is resolved via the name servers of Hetzner Online GmbH; no data about your visit to this site is transmitted to Hetzner in the process.

3. Server log files

With every request, the web server automatically stores: your device's IP address and port, date and time, request method, requested host and path, protocol and TLS version, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, processing time, and the browser type (user agent) and accepted content types sent by your browser.

The purpose is delivering the site, analysing errors and defending against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and stable operation. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest and are not combined with other data.

4. Protection against attacks

If an IP address shows typical attack patterns (such as mass requests for known vulnerability paths), it is blocked automatically for at most 7 days (software: fail2ban). For this, the IP address is stored for the duration of the block. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protecting the server). No further automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

5. No cookies, no tracking

This site stores no information on your device and reads none from it — no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting. Consent under § 25 TDDDG is therefore not required, and there is no cookie banner. Fonts, scripts, images and the audio sample are loaded exclusively from this domain; no third-party content is embedded.

6. External links

Links to GitHub and Hugging Face are plain links. Only when you click one do you leave this site; the privacy policies of those providers then apply.

7. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your address and message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request aims at a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering your request). Messages are deleted once the request is settled and no statutory retention obligations apply. The mailbox is operated by Proton AG (Switzerland); the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for Switzerland.

8. Encryption

All connections to this site are TLS-encrypted (HTTPS only).

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20).

Right to object: where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Providing your data is not required by law or contract; without processing your IP address, however, the site cannot be delivered.
